This project was an exercise in adding value to a preexisting product by re-branding it and making the packaging a bit more upscale. The product is a handmade Japanese folding pocket knife. It's not very common in the West or even outside of Japan. In Japan, it is seen as a common woodworker's knife however, collectors appreciate its value and quality. I wanted to design it in a way that will make it more palatable to Western tastes. I also mocked up a few advertisements to add to the brand experience.
