This luminescent painting was inspired by one of Cirque du Soleil's set designs. The thought of a performance being choreographed and executed over and over again intreagued me. The painting above is an abstract representation of the set design, and the painting below is a glow-in-the-dark underpainting that represents the performance. In the same way that Cirque du Soleil's performance is slightly different each time it is performed, this painting appears slightly different to viewers each time it is exposed to lighting. Impermanence is an everchanging painting.
