Top level user flow diagram. I tend to combine user objectives and process flows. It is important to understand what the user is trying to do at points where the system is satisfying organisational objectives
Here, the 80% user journey is a user stat gleaned from analytics. The analytics throws up an interesting user patterns, suggesting a UX issue or certaininly the potential for a design solution
The user journey actually starts before the user gets to the site. The traffic stats from email are below expectations for email marketing activity. This diagram was created subsequent to user testing where the proposal was to enhance user data to enable more targeted exerience online as well as personalised email newsletters, extending the UX beyond the confines of the site.
