Chalq is a local chat app to easily find, start, and discuss topics in your area. Chalq was funded by Start Garden at the 5k level. My role was founder, product designer, web designer, social media, pr, legal, & more.
Problem
The current state of local communication isn't optimal. Information is spread out all over the internet. Apps like facebook and twitter are built for global audiences. Local anonymous user apps don't solve this issue and lack long term value. Businesses and organizations struggle at social media.
Challenges
• People don't know what to talk about
• Make it easy for businesses and organizations
• Make each locale the proper size so conversations aren't too large or too fragmented
MVP Solution
A local chat app that focuses heavily on topics to aid the conversation. Beta launch to Kalamazoo, MI and Grand Rapids, MI to test the app and market.
