During a missions trip in 2010 to Quaxaca, the people in the village we were staying, took us to see a cliff that was an important part of their history. From the outside it looked like any other cliff but on the inside, their ancestors had built tiny hotel like rooms inside to escape from the French invasion. They lived inside the cliff for years until they were able to make new villages for themselves higher up the mountains, where they would not be noticed.
