Way-finding Experience

The Glasgow School of Arts had just moved into its new design building i.e. the Reid Building and the graphic workshop aimed at designing a wayfinding experience for this new building.
The interiors of the new building are white and modernistic, with large open space.
It was to be used by students and faculty for academic purposes and occassionally for an exhibition, thus we wanted to design a way-finding experience considering it.
We wanted the signage to be sutle, like the building whispers the direction to. The signs are there when you need them and can go unnoticed when you don’t need them.
We tried different fonts, geometric patterns and materials so as to get the right light and shade combination for white signs to be read on a white backdrop.
