Bertelsmeyer Hall Dedication Collateral

Save the Date

This was the first piece created for the event. The building was not complete, so I created a vector illustration based on the architectural rendering. Two versions were created, one for the donors and one for other digintaries. Variable data was utilized for the greeting at the top of the event listing.

Invitation
The invitation was a challenge due to the dedication coinciding with Homecoming. In order to fit all of the desired information in, we made the invite a booklet that wouldn't require mailing tabs. The building was far enough along that we were able to get a cover photo. We took an abstract approach so it would be a surprise when they came to the dedication. There were also two versions of this piece to make sure that the donors did not pay for their dinner.

Environmental Graphics

In order to honor the donors, it was desired that we have a "Walk of Fame". I originally wanted to create enviornmental graphics for the sidewalk. There was concern that the graphics wouldn't last so we decided to utilize the main windows on the front of the builidng. I designed the graphics to be on a lower level so donors would be able to take photos with their names. I repeated the hexagon shape used in the chemical bonds to tie into the rest of the collateral.

T-Shirt
The students in the department received these shirts to wear to the dedication to show appreciation to the donors. Since the name is 12 letters long, I decided to break it up into four sets of four letters. I saw a t-shirt with a photo on it and it intrigued me, so I learned how to set up a photo for screen printing.

Dinner Program and Placecard
Since the stacking of the letters worked so well on the t-shirt, I decided to incorporate the type treatement onto the dinner program. The linens and napkins on the table were neutral and it was determined that the program needed to be lime to add color to the table setting.

Champagne Flute

Before the fireworks finale of the celebration, there was a champagne toast. Customized flutes were used and given to attendees as a keepsake.

Fall/Winter Magazine Feature

Some of the donors and alumni were not able to make it to the dedication, therefore the Fall/Winter issue of the Missouri S&T magazine features Bertelsmeyer Hall. Showcasing the features of the building was our main focus. I looked at architecture magazines for inspiration and worked closely with our photographer to shoot the photos so the copy could go directly in the negative space of the photos.
