"A Father's Provisions" Eco Pittsburgh

Titled: "A Father's Provisions"

The entire piece composes the face of a man. The buildings chosen to make up the bridge of his nose and cheek were all standing structures of Pittsburgh built by our forefathers in or before the 1950's. These buildings are still prominent and well known throughout the city. The buildings up top are all our generation's doing, being our eco-friendly footprint on the city. Throughout the man's "beard" are various elements found in the parks of Pittsburgh.

Continuing on, I see the city as a "father" or parental figure. We live within it, so therefore we are like its children. Our fathers before us crafted buildings that have come into our lives, and similarly we pass on our buildings to the next generation. So what are we doing to make the city's next children safe and at home? What marks will we leave? We are taking our fathers provisions and adding to them.
