Human flight has evolved dramatically over the centuries, from the first efforts in flight of the Chinese in 400BC to Leonardo Da Vinci’s first real studies of flight in 1485. In 1783 the first hot air balloon was invented by the Montgolfier brothers, and then in 1903 it was the Wright brothers who became famous with their glider.
In the 20th century space travel was made possible, but what does the future hold? Science fiction tells us that we will be travelling to other galaxies in the future, but rather, is the future of flying going to be more focussed in the world of virtual reality with people sitting in the comforts of their own homes while immersed in virtual worlds?
