This project is a work in progress.
It aims to gather stories from community membors in the North Lawndale and Homan Square neighborhoods in West Chicago. We will be setting up “story-share” booths at local festivals and events, as well as conducting scheduled one-on-one interviews. Once collected, we will display these stories for all to enjoy and make them permanently available as a record of the community’s oral history. Additionally, we plan to listen to these stories in order to gauge interest in potential arts programming that will take place in Homan Square Tower beginning in fall of 2015.
