Projects completed thus far for my Advanced Concept Art class, in the following order: 

 

1. Design an "Old World" mythological creature in the style of a "New World" culture. (A take on a Mayan sphinx. I did a lot of digging to find traditional hairstyling for Mayan women, taking inspiration from murals and sculpture.)

2. Imagine an evil/villainous character as a baby or small child. (a young Baba Yaga, a witch from Russian/Eastern Slavic folklore infamous for eating or threatening to eat people, and misleading travelers. She's known for living in a house on chicken legs.)

3. Design a poster for a film noir movie based off of a nursery rhyme(s).  ("Pop Goes the Weasel" with guest appearance by Mary Quite Contrary as the leading lady.)

4. Create a pinup of a cartoon/animated/comic character. (Jane Porter from Disney's Tarzan.)
