Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
I loved the first in the reboots of the prequels of the Planet of the Apes (if that’s what we can call them) and this past week I managed to catch the latest in the series, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. After so many of these films it’s great to see that they can still tell a pretty intriguing story and I couldn’t resist creating a poster.
I wanted to find a style that could lend itself to the image of Ceasar and after uploading the recent version of Adobe’s Creative Cloud I was immediately inspired by Patrick Seymour’s Lion illustration that appears when opening Illustrator CC 2014. To start I created Ceasar in Illustrator and once I was satisfied with the image I imported the vector into Photoshop to included the eye effects along with a few other touch-ups.
