Into the Wild - Experimental book layout

Into the Wild is a 1996 non-fiction book written by Jon Krakauer.
Christopher Johnson McCandless grew up in suburban Annandale, Virginia. After graduating in May 1990 with high grades from Emory University, McCandless ceased communicating with his family, gave away his college fund of $24,000 to Oxfam, and began traveling across Western United States, later abandoning his 1982 Datsun after a flash flood.
Book consists of a few layers, including:
1. Author's original text, his own experiences, and detalied descriptions of Christopher's (Alexander's) adventures and mishaps.
2. Authentic letters and notes that came from Alexander and people he met on his journey.
3. Quotes from other written media that are referent for book and chapter's content.
The book cover was made by sewing faux leather by hand and making a belt from the same material to make it look like an old journal.
The idea was to separate authentic content from author's content, so you can look at it separately or as a whole.

I did that by printing letters and journal notes on tracing paper. Parts of the paper print were left blank so when the tracing paper with authentic letter is on top of the paper content, it makes a full related page, but it is still segregated from author's text.
Quotes from other written media were treated by narrowing their margin and adding oversized quotation marks.
Thanks for watching!
