In the lead-up to the presentation of "My Jesse James Adventure and Other Stories" by Colette Copeland, the exhibition highlighted solar plate etchings, chine-collé, and anthotypes crafted during a workshop. During this period, I gained insights into the meticulous process of skillfully arranging and framing images.
Working with my peers, we meticulously positioned the prints between two acrylic sheets, suspending them with Perlon cords within the design gallery. This meticulous process required accurate measurements of the walls and frame dimensions, careful calculation of the spacing between each element, and determining an optimal height for an enhanced viewing experience.
Colette Copeland is an artist working across various media forms and a cultural critic/writer, delving into themes related to gender, mortality, and the intricate terrain of human connections. Drawing from personal stories and popular media, she employs video, sound, photography, performance, and sculptural installation to scrutinize societal roles and the profound impact of media and technology on our shared cultural upbringing.
