"Lollipop Lollipop"

“Lollipop Lollipop”, 12” x 12”, tempera on watercolor paper—exploring true color; monochromatic; analogus; and split-complimentary color schemes. To produce this composition, objects were chosen to demonstrate form and function of a tool. I chose a lollipop and candy and photographed them. After importing them into a two-part square grid, the grid was further divided into four distinct areas. In each area, I painted the imagine using a different color scheme: true color, monochromatic, analogous, and split-complimentary. The goal was to move seamlessly in terms of values from one color scheme to the next.
