The theme of my project is ‘The Chess Connection’. Chess has been played for nearly 2000 years and is a cultural game that is both educational and humanistic. Facilitates interaction between people of different languages, ages and cultural backgrounds across the globe. The project collects pieces from various types of chess as visual motifs. It ultimately presents the cultural connotations of chess and its interactivity as a bond between people in the form of an installation. Because the game of chess requires both sides of the game as well as the pieces on both sides. So, I halved the pieces and had only one chair. This interaction shows visitors that it is not feasible to lose one side in a two-player confrontation. In many games, participation lies in the exchange between two or more people. It is the memories and emotions that are generated that are part of the competitive game that has a great impression on people. The exhibition utilises chess pieces in a visual exploration that culminates in an assemblage of images and books.
