Final submission Makerslab.
When the theme of our final assignment was announced, a buoy immediately came to mind. Having been on vacation on a sailing boat and having sailed often at night, this is something that stayed with me. I deliberately did not put any lights on the buoy to keep it realistic. At sea, the buoys rarely have lights. Only small ones to see the difference.
I then started looking for how best to create realistic wave movements with my equipment. At first I wanted to create a horizontal sea with my buoy sitting in between. But after a first overflow with Mr. Jan, he gave me the good idea to lay my plates horizontally on top of each other to give a double depth effect. I then started looking for which material would best suit the sea. After having painted mirror, transparent plexiglass and even white plexiglass with blue, I ended up with blue/transparent plexiglass. I then started overlaying those with engraved wave lines with the laser cutter.

I placed a simple origami boat next to it to give more realism to the length of my buoy. The fisherman is also for a reason. I remember we often fished when we were close to buoys to increase our chances of catching them. So I tried to use the string hanging from my angler's line and from the buoy to create an effect that he caught something by the movement of my buoy.
