The apartment design was developed for a young couple with a child. The layout required two separate rooms and a drawing room. The windows were all facing the one side, it was because of this that one room had no natural light, which called for supply and exhaust ventilation and quite a lot of light scenarios. One of the bedrooms was repurposed for a child; its col
or scheme is radically different from the rest of the apartment. And the kitchen-living room became the drawing room. We also managed to allocate a dressing room at the entrance.
The customers wanted to see the entire apartment bright and dense in tone, with the exception of the daughter’s room.
Appalachian brown was chosen as the main color for the drawing area, and the same color was used for the furniture in the dressing room. To make the space look more dynamic, we added RGB lighting for different areas of the space. In general, we worked with light throughout the apartment and provided different lighting scenarios.
In the living room, the necessary zones were highlighted and the doors to the rooms were masked with the help of light and materials. To make the area with doors to the rooms not looking boring, we added a niche in which we recessed the air conditioner, and the rock-like finish looks brutal and voluminous. Against the background of a brutal rock, the LED sculpture floor lamp looks luxurious and light.
A pendant lamp above a table made from 360 LED strip looks similar. We placed a 3D electric fireplace under the gypsum board cover for the TV, and a rock also serves as a 3D background for the fire. The kitchen was not highlighted, it was made linear in the color of the walls, the open shelf made it possible to make the lighting more voluminous.
The dressing room is hidden from the main room with wall-length mirrors. The wall is decorated with light cubes containing collectible bearbrick and kaws figurines.
The ceiling in the room is the same color as the walls, as well as in the bathroom, which allows you to make the space more integral and intimate. Dark colors were chosen for the bathroom and plumbing fixtures, and the accent is an orbital mirror with floating lighting in a gold frame.
The room without windows was planned as an additional bedroom; it has a transformable sofa. The room was planned to be used for family movie watching, so several lighting scenarios were provided. And the absence of windows will be compensated by the “starry sky” ceiling and supply and exhaust ventilation. Rocks on the walls under the stars in the sky add additional romance.
The children's room is radically different from the rest of the apartment. It is light and airy, with lovely color accents in the furniture and ceiling. Throughout the apartment the volumetric rock is more angular and textured, however in the children's room soft rounded elements on the wall are used for decoration, a truncated circle of plasterboard with backlight and gypsum 3D panels. A neon light is placed on a truncated circle, expressively speaking about the owner of the room.
