Genre - Portrait

I have selected portrait because it is the genre where I am completely out of my comfort zone. The first four images are of strangers I met during a Parkrun in the local forest. All were very happy to pose and to allow me to use the images for this course work. It was a much more pleasant experience than I would've anticipated and I will do it again (I think). 

The last two images are of my mum. She is in the early stages of dementia. I am lucky that she still knows who we all are and the context in which she knows us but on some days she is more confused that others. Both these images were taken on good days and she happily posed - she wasn't at all grumpy. I asked her to scowl and she did. I don't want us to stop taking photographs even as she begins her decline but I want to capture the essence of her, whatever that might be at the time. This course has helped me to attempt this and I would appreciate feedback on the images I have captured of her so far.
