Afternoon Invitation was a color mood project. The objective was to create a mood using color and light. This photo was shot in a room in my home. The afternoon sun comes through that window and paints the bed in  warm light. Inviting as it is calming. The colors, were all with in the same hues. Giving a warm feeling. 

The bedding is old, and the stuff animals are also quite old. The lion on the right is mine that I have had since I was 3. It went through a rapid transformation shortly after I recieved it as a gift from my Aunt Penny for my birthday. My older brother Danny, was "playing" barber shop and swore he was only pretending to cut hair.  So I let him have my lion, to play as I drifted off to sleep. Only to wake in the morning where I was given a large coffee can with his cuttings in one hand and a very limp lion in the other hand. 

He has stayed with me. He has gone through many attempts at healing, from buttons, to horrid sewing jobs, even nail polish for eyes. He is loved and remains with me. The other is the first stuff animal I got my oldest daughter Cora. They both hold my heart and a place on my bed. Reminding me that love is beautiful.
