SAHASI CHORI (BRAVE GIRL) is a twenty-minute short film starring newcomers Albina Dahal and Jeewan Adhikary, exploring the world of con-artists of the sex trade in India. It was shot entirely on location in Nepal as an NYU Tisch Asia thesis film, in association with IN THE FLICKER, CHAOTIC MOON, and FILM HIMALAYA. It was completed in 2012, and has since screened in over 28 festivals worldwide, received four "Best Short Film" awards, a Special Jury Prize, the Carl Lerner Award for a Film With Social Significance, and was voted "Best of Fest" by the audience at Palm Springs Shortfest. SAHASI CHORI (BRAVE GIRL) was given a 4-star review by Mark Bell of Film Threat, and a feature radio segment by Ray Kougell of Voice of America. It has been featured on numerous radio programs and blogs, screened in educational and trafficking awareness-related events, and is represented by See-Through Films and Southern Celluloid Films. The producers are currently seeking domestic, international, and educational distribution.
