Menu Exercise
For this project, I was tasked with creating a 5x7 menu for a restaurant of my choice. I decided to create a menu for "The Hidden Garden," a charming outdoor restaurant nestled in a lush garden.
I imagine the garden being a key element in the dining experience that they want to create, so I chose a simplistic design that would clearly communicate the various offerings of the restaurant without pulling attention away from the surroundings of the restaurant. The desaturated sages and cream color also aid in this. I chose to place the name of the restaurant to the side to avoid the menu section headers from conflicting with it and to group the logo with the name of the restaurant.
The design of the logo is inspired by a flower. I chose to make the logo's design as discreet as the rest of the menu. I also chose to have the logo share the same color as the name of the restaurant to make the menu more cohesive.
