Amazing Animals

In the Amazing animals project, students selected an animal of their choice, and were tasked at creating an encyclopedic, logo, gestural, and a transformation drawing. Students used their sketchbooks, tracing paper, and bristol board for their sketches, and then moved them digitally to Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
The encyclopedic drawing used a combination of varying drawing pencils, as well as some eraser and charcoal to help with the shading.
Above are my sketches for my logo and the final logo of the elephant. Sharpie was used for all of the logos, and each logo takes a different approach. The final logo was picked because of the contrast and simplicity of the design.
My gestural drawings were fast and quick in order to capture the overall essence of the animal. The different materials I used were india ink, charcoal, brush pen, sharpie, and pencil.
Here are some transformation drawings that elephants are associated with. The two on the left are used with pencil, and the right is the final drawing that is an Asian elephant traditionally from Burma or Thailand.
