TUMPENG
"Submission for Kompetisi Desain Teh Botol Sosro 2023"

As an Indonesian, I am proud to have cultural diversity, one of which is in the culinary world. Indonesian people, especially the island of Java, are familiar with the name Tumpeng. This time my design is entitled Tumpeng which is a mandatory dish during thanksgiving or traditional ceremonies.

Tumpeng is usually made from yellow rice molded into a kerucuk which is placed on a bamboo winnowing dish and then served with a variety of traditional side dishes. Behind its deliciousness, it turns out that tumpeng is also full of meaning and prayers to the Almighty. The cone shape of tumpeng rice is a representation of Indonesia's geographical conditions, which have many mountains and hills. In ancient times, mountains were considered sacred places where the gods and the spirits of their ancestors resided.

In this work, I show tumpeng with various traditional side dishes which symbolize the diversity of Indonesian produce which is cooked with mothers in the hope that life will always be prosperous and full of blessings.
