For this project, I was assigned two clashing colors and was only allowed to use white or black as a tertiary color. My idea for designing a matchbox with a sinking vessel on it came from some random triangles I was drawing while trying out a new brush and I happened to make two triangles that vaguely esembled an iceberg and a boat. The contrast between light and dark andthe sheer sharp angles reminded me of the "L'ATLANTIQUE'" advertisement by Adolphe Mouron Cassandre. I ultimately chose to design a match box because they typically have simplistic designs with very few colors or details.
