(2011 - 2013) BlackBerry 10 - UI Components

Background
The clips below show some of the BlackBerry 10 projects I worked on as an employed UI designer at BlackBerry Sweden (previously TAT). This involved mainly concept development for the core ui components like text selection, navigation, lists and menus. For the most part my responsibility involved high-fidelity prototyping to iterate different concepts together with interaction designers and visual designers. Furthermore, I also worked on the actual motion design on different UI components.

As a UI designer my role is to help push the design forward in terms of usability and the overall user experience such as motion design etc. Trying out different solutions and in the end finding out which solution is the most suitable before it gets implemented by software development. This means that the work requires a lot of attention to details. Special use cases and user experience issues needs to be brought to light as well as the timings on the animations needs to be spot on.

The concepts got implemented later on in the BlackBerry 10 OS. I also hold six patents together with a group of collegues for the Context menu which can be seen below.
