Portrait of a Panic Attack

I set up my phone after my shower because I felt a panic attack coming. I took a screen shot and painted over it in Procreate using the brushstrokes and line work to try to communicate emotion. I allowed some of the original photo to bleed through a bit for some subtle texture. I am very interested in documenting the vulnerability around mental illness and how relationships are affected.

This work was accepted into the Women in the Arts: "Celebrating the Genius of Women" 
11th. Annual International Art Competition in Honor of Women's History Month.
