This was my first thrown planter. In this project I focused on alternating sharp and soft curves for the form. I decided to use a toothed rib to create the texture on the body of the form. I felt that by using long and short sweeping motions with the rib I was continuing to explore soft and sharp curves in this piece. I glazed the planter with my studio’s Tea Dust Black and I feel it’s patina look adds to the piece’s intended form and use.
