Umami is a visual identity project of a restaurant based in Paris. With asian culinary inspirations, this restaurant only serves plates with the umami flavor.

Umami is often described as the fifth basic taste, alongside sweet, sour, salty, and bitter. 

It is a savory or meaty taste that is characteristic of foods rich in glutamate, such as meats, fish, mushrooms, tomatoes, soy sauce, and aged cheeses. 

Umami adds depth and complexity to dishes, contributing to a sensation of fullness and satisfaction. The taste of umami is detected by specific receptors on the tongue that respond to glutamate and certain other amino acids. 

Overall, umami enhances the overall flavor profile of food, making it more robust and appealing.
