The Smell of Fear
It was a group effort project. My colleagues and I were partnered up to film this horror video for our editing class last semester. Looking back at it, it was very fun to film, and I got to meet some new people that my classmates were familiar with. This story was about two people who bought a candle that contained a samurai demon called “D.C.” After they light it, things go very wrong.
During the shooting, we ran into a few issues, and we needed more time to film than the other group. We had our own time to edit before the due date but considering that we ran out of filming time, our extension the teacher gave us led to a new ending for the film. It was originally going to end with them banishing the demon and throwing the candle away, but our new ending was the demon killing them with his sword.
We did this project very well in my opinion. The light in the bathroom was the perfect touch for the demon’s entrance and the smoke that came before his entrance, it was done by them using my fog machine. I think this is my favorite piece that I edited.
