Stanford Cardiovascular Institute Logo

The Stanford Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) asked for a design that would present the organisation as more than the sum of its parts – research, education and care.

The logo is a stylized heart symbol, constructed on intersecting, smooth and curved lines mirrored along vertical axis to create a balanced sign. The resulting shape looks like made of continous ribbon.

The symbol has been designed to include abstractions of circulatory system — blood vessels and heart. As a bonus, stylized letters “C”, “V” and “I” can be seen in the sign.

The logo can be reproduced in any medium and includes a primary full-colour version with gradients and a two-colour and monochromatic options.

Finally, the lock-up follows the official Stanford University guidelines.
