Leonardo's emblematic drawing depicting human proportions according to Vitruvius is a symbol of the Renaissance and humanism. The human body is enclosed in a square and a circle. The height of an adult is approximately equal to the width of his spread arms. So it also resembles a cross. The cross is one of the oldest symbols of humanity. In the history of civilization, this sign was most often associated with some form of cult. In pre-Christian times it symbolized, among others: the four elements, the four directions of the world and the balance in the universe. Often associated with solar deities and forces of nature. This sign appears in various cultures, in a more or less complex form. It has particular importance in the Christian religion. Birds in flight, with their wings spread, also resemble the sign of the cross. When I was little, my mother and I took my older brother to school. We had a habit that on my way back, I would run downhill. Mom was standing downstairs and I was running fast, with open arms, into my mother's arms. Frida Kahlo wondered: “Can verbs be made up? I'll tell you one. I heaven you, so my wings will open wide to love you boundlessly." I collect driftwood. For some time now I have been creating birds with spread wings out of them. Isn't every flap of the birds' wings a gesture of love for the earth? Their open wings in flight embrace her as if they wanted to hug her tightly. Birds are descendants of dinosaurs and have already survived one extinction event. They loved this blue planet more than anything.
