Through art making my soul is deeply fed. The practice is my prayer, my meditation. It is where I feel at peace with the world and occasionally glimpse a taste of eternity.

At this time my work is most informed by Journey work, Shamanism, Psychology, Astrology, Dreams, the Tarot and Nature. Here is a sampling of some of my artwork.

Ive been creating a large scale mural, in panels, each panel connects to the next. The images come to me in during night dreams, drum journeys, mythology/ fairytales and experiences out in nature.

Dream excerpt: “There is a very large snake with brown white black bands. It is coming towards me. (It is fall and there are leaves on the ground I’m standing next to a leaf filled ditch) I dodge the snake to get out of its way, It changes course and comes toward me. I move again and it comes toward me a 3rd time. Dodging it again I “jump in the ditch” and lay down in the leaves. The snake comes for me and crosses my body 3 times. My heart beats fast along with the sound of the snake’s rattle. The snake leaves. I lay as still as possible listening to hear if the snake will return. – I awake to my heart beating and the sound of the snake’s rattle in my ears.”

Drum journey excerpt : “thought about weaving, it occurs to me something is already on the loom, think of small loom instead, I am weaving with flesh, weaving with blood, a string is being pulled from my body beginning from the feet, I am pulling out my veins and weaving half a shirt for the upper left side of my body, for my left hand, chest and heart.”

Tarot Card commissioned by a dear friend to reperesnt her lifetime personality/ soul card. Image created from a combination of biographical details, specific symbols associated with the archetype and anything else that found its way in. The fool as the explorer of consciousness.

Self portrait as The Hermit, my personal life time/ soul card.

Tarot Card portrait for a friend who asked me to paint her an image so that she could always remember who she really is. Her lifetime/ soul card is the Hermit and she is a writer, actress and life coach. I painted her as "Ther Star" who is "The Hermits" light.

"Leaving California" A painting to make honorable closure after leaving Marin County Calfornia after living there for 14 years. The painting was inspired by a journey I experienced while attending a Autumnal exquinox ceremony with gifted teacher Jan Edl at the beautiful Green Gulch Farn and Zen Center.

The Egyptian goddess Nut. It is said that at evening time she swallows the sun and gives birth to it again come morning.

"Into the depths, brush through the tangles"

Inspired by the myth of Sedna, where one must do the work of compassionately untangling her hair in order to gain favor and blessings.

"Crowning"

Inspired by my recent opening to archetypal astrology and reading the work of Stan Grof on the birth/ death/ rebirth process. The crowning moment where we die to life in the womb, are born to this world and the light from the universe pours into us.

Eat Your Heart Out (Dialogue)
Vulture says to me…
“Hold out your wings to the sunrise that is your life being created every day,
Let all that is bacterial and vulgar to your nature be cooked off and carried away
Like a street pavement mirage, heat rises
Use the sun and thermals to bring you up to the sky above, effortless,
Into spiral formation”

I pray, I ask…
“eat from my heart too
What is dead today, devour it for me
Let it’s ghost be my initiation
it’s me- morial be my initiation
all the fear, pride, mistrust
all that creates such dense plaque, not allowing the natural flow of life to move though
all that keeps my heart closed
help me sense the smell of death
that I may cradle and comfort the dying within
Let my body nourish the cycle,
So that I may live in my life fully,
to deliver myself at sunset.”
