A member of a local band, The Stray Dogs, came to me and asked me to create a poster for a gig at Slim's Downtown in Raleigh. I am also in the process of creating another poster for another show in September.
First I created a logo for the band. They describe their sound as "Americana Honky Tonk Twang Rock." I decided that a seemingly hand-written logo type would be the most appropriate course of action.

As for the gig poster, I decided to draw heavily on the band's name, The Stray Dogs. It features a pack of dogs, howling at a 'moon,' which happens to be the bar's logo.
