THE END OF THE WORLD photo booth

Memories From the End of the World -
An art Installation for Jerusalem Design Week 2023.

"It's easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of capitalism," someone once said. And indeed, humanity has always been persistent about imagining its end through art and culture. Recently, more so than ever. Apocalyptic imagery greets us from every screen, and the possibilities of our end are endless: alien invasions, the rising sea level, machine uprisings, nuclear war, or a plain old global water shortage. We are so preoccupied with the end of the world, that, paradoxically, it has become just another image in an endless sea of images.
Here at "Memories from the end of the word™”, we wish to experience the apocalypse in all its glory and bring back all the emotions we have numbed ourselves to: the awe and excitement of the spectacle, the sadness, sorrow, and loss, the difficult realization that this is it—the end really is at hand.
Capture yourself in one final photograph from a ruined world: an eternal souvenir.

An AI - automated photobooth taking place the moment after the end, with the participant being the sole survivor.
