Evolution of the Toad

A character creation project for third year game design, Victoria University of Wellington (2013). We were tasked to pick an animal and recreate it after having undergone rapid evolution because of environmental change. The theme i chose was severe drought caused by climate change. A toad has been forced to become a predator in this harsh environment in order to feed on larger animals like lizards, snakes and scorpions.
Final Renders placing the character into the environment the character evolved in. Set up with lighting in Maya to create shadows that match the background image.
Pictures of the Texture map, normal map and UV map used in order to achieve the look of the final character model.
