JERIS
Typeface

Jeris is a vernacular typeface inspired by enamel sign typography. "Jeris" name came from a signage of a small local tailor brand in Bandung, Indonesia. Enamel sign commonly used for advertising and street signage which popular around 1880-1950. Therefore, Jeris typeface highly influenced by vintage enamel sign typography. Jeris typeface comes with uppercase and small capitals. 
Design process begin with tracing the original typeface to identify its characteristics, tracing process done by manual hand-drawing. The typography has extended style and similar to stencil typography. Jeris originally consist 5 letters: J, E, R, I, and S. The rest of the alphabet constructed based on those 5 letters's characteristics.
