Spring 2014 / Interactive Book Design on the iPad / Adobe Photoshop and Demibooks Composer Pro

 

In an interactive book design class, we used the entire semester to design an iBook app. I wanted to create a book that made the reader the protagonist; the character that undergoes the most change by the end of the story. This book called Answer This is a book with big life quesionts for the reader to think about or talk about with others. It is inspired by a print book called SoulPancake by Rainn Wilson, Devon Gundry, Golaize Lucina, and Shabnam Mogharabi. I came up with questions of my own and made each page with simple interactions to contribute to the meaning of the topic. For example, on the page that asks, “What is your purpose?” as the reader taps on the word “purpose,” it fills up with color, to convey being filled with purpose. This book was designed in Adobe Photoshop and then developed on the iPad using Composer Pro.
