In a post pandemic world, communication is rapidly changing from the in-person world to the digital one. So, the theme for our cards is virtual communication. Inspired by 50’s cartoon illustrations, we created a character to demonstrate the definitions of our semiotic terms. We aim to create an interesting juxtaposition by casting our vintage style cartoon character in a neon colour scheme. Our fun illustration style softens the complicated definitions of ten semiotic terms while still demonstrating the meaning. The box is creatively designed as a monitor, with a stand that folds out to create a tiny computer screen. Our final designs are a playful, contrasting take on semiotic flashcards.
