The 606
An online presence for Chicago’s newest park
When complete, the 606 will be Chicago’s next great park. The 606 is built upon an unused elevated rail line that once physically separated four neighborhoods. It will now knit them together, connecting thousands of children and their families, nature, and our community. The 606 brings together elevated trails for bikers and runners, art installations, and landscape design to create an urban oasis and a new way to explore Chicago.

Rule29 helped create a web presence for the 606 as the project got underway. Aiming to convey the friendly, open feel of the park, the site features large imagery and an inviting layout. Avoiding clutter for the sake of clarity, the site uses tones from the brand as well as the park itself to create a contemporary yet natural feeling.
To help visitors better understand the scale of the park and how to get to it, we implemented a custom Google Map with a pin for each point-of-interest for the park. The whole element is updatable by the 606, so newly completed parks will never be left out.
