Above: original 2014 piece.
“Lionheart” is a revisited work I made on paper in 2014 as part of an art “quilt” of non-sequitur panels on paper. I loved this one so much I digitized it and made it into its own piece. The piece speaks about being brave in the face of adversity. I’ve felt for a long time that bravery is one of my strongest traits. The black shadow covering the lower part of the face represents adversity. The person is in the midst of it and could be overtaken by the stress of doing something that requires bravery, but they are resolved to keep going one way or the other.
