In 2006, I had the privilege of working with Derek Hess, the Ohio-based fine artist responsible for many cd covers and a clothing line. He held a contest late that year in which he provided stock images of his sketches to work with. I placed 2nd overall with the popeye piece and had it published on his portfolio.
