Background and Strategic fit
Unemployment is a severe problem in Nigeria, with an alarming index of 33.5% Nigerians that are unemployed. Despite this, we have an average number of 400, 000 + graduates joining and adding to the jobless statistics each year.
Many youths graduate from university with no sense of direction or what to do next. They aim for the white collar job, the Big 4, and the tech industries, but these opportunities come with a price of years of experience and valuable skills, which of course they do not possess. However, skills can be acquired and worked on with the right tools and a teachable workplace.
This is where the SMEs, small business owners, and Small scale Entrepreneurs come in.
Unfortunately, these sets of people also face a challenge in recruiting the right candidate with
the right mindset for the job. Averagely, a small-scale business will require lesser years of experience from the candidate compared to a Large scale business. This is what Career Match focuses on. Providing service as a solution to both new graduates and small business owners.


Product Overview
Career Match is a service as a solution-based product, curbing the graduate unemployment
rate in Nigeria by matching their demand for Internship positions, Entry Level positions, Junior
level positions with Small Businesses in need of these talents.
Problem Statement: Unemployment is a serious problem in Nigeria, many people graduate
from university and don’t have a sense of direction of what to do next.


Proxy Metric:
1. Engagement level to survey on ‘ Dealing with unemployment as a new graduate
2. Expecting at least 50 graduates to respond positively at the Launch of Career Match.
3. Receive new feature suggestions after 1-3 months of product launch

Target Market
Target User 1: New graduates from university, with 0-2 years of work experience, searching for
an entry-level job.
Target User 2: Small business owners/entrepreneurs with an employee range of under 5 - 30
workers.

Goal Metric
Increase adoption rate after 3 months of product launch

User research
Google survey forms were used to gather data and insight for the product. Two separate forms
have been created for our separate target users. N.B. the survey is currently still receiving
responses.
