68 Coffee House, Branding and Packaging REWORK

68 Coffee House is proudly owned and operated by my stepmom, who pours hours of her time and talents into creating delicious lunch and baking recipes for the people of Rockglen. It's the only establishment of it's kind in a town of 500 people, and the only place to get a good latte. The coffee house has a very humble and welcoming atmosphere and has become an everyday stop for some residents.

The original logo for 68 Coffee House (below), was designed by myself five years ago. Since then, I've worked hard to grow as a designer and knew this would be a good project to rebrand according to my current tastes and skills. I thought it needed to be bolder, more versatile, and provide ease-of-use for a small town coffee shop that has limited printing resources.

The parameters and target audience of this project remained the same. It was requested to have a simple black and white colour scheme, to have a rustic and homey feel, and appeal to the small town residents of Rockglen and coffee lovers alike. Through this process, I focused a lot on making the most out of very little. What does the audience need to know? How can I keep this simple? What are ways to use one resource for multiple outcomes?

These alternate logo stamp designs could make branding products (coffee cups, menus, takeout bags or containers, etc.) easier and more attainable for the small business, while keeping homemade feel that's so important for this brand.

Takeout meals are a big hit at this coffee shop, with many people ordering lunches weeks in advance. A sealed sticker for takeout and gift bags could work perfectly with all the contact info and space to write down customer details if necessary.
