I exhibited at Jinny Street Gallery under the theme of “Michibiki”, which in Japanese guidance or the path ahead. For this year-end exhibition, I drew mountains, which became a symbolic place for me in the year 2023 as I began spending more time there. The mountains allowed me to meet new people and reconnect with old friends and families. It led me to appreciate the trivial events of daily life, and taught me that “safety” is something that we create for ourselves. I usually pack a small sketchbook and a few pastels in my backpack and paint in the mountains, but for this exhibit, I took the liberty to use various mediums and ample of time to draw, reflecting on all the mountains I visited this year.
