"The City in Collage" is a series of collage artworks which transformed to a series of intaglio works and then even to some prints on t-shirts. At first I was inspired by architecture of Wroclaw, the city I studied in. After some time I began making collages based on my hometown (St. Petersburg) attractions. 

Intaglio is a very complex and time-consuming technique. Here you see some of the steps you have to take to prepare the plate for printing: cleanse it with acetone, then apply colors and polish the plate with silk. Some of the prints (the ones with grungy textures) are made with cutouts of tetrapack.

One plate allows to print about 50 copies. Mixed media such as chine-colle and dry etching allow to create different print variations.

Screen-print is a lot different from intaglio, here we have to prepare different screens - one screen for each color. Screen printing is also suitable for printing on textiles.

The most difficult about screen printing is to make screens of different colors match each other. Sometimes few sample prints are needed.
