In 2050, the urban population will be around 75% of the global population. Thinking about the urban population and their relation with the cities is the main purpose of this thesis. The objective of this thesis is to highlight the importance of thinking the urban spaces in relation with the urban users. In the first part of the study, we will try to have an overview of the purpose of urban utopias. How they have tried to make society more efficient and what are the main movements in this domain? We will see how those urban projects deserve the construction of the future of our cities. The second part will see how the urban conception integrates the user centered method. In order to explain, we will analyze the profession of the space designer and his role in the area of urban design. Then we will see how many urban utopias are user centered and introduce the smart cities, those new kind of cities are covered with an informative layer and their objective is to get more and more efficient all the features of the city. In parallel we will focus on the health risks of the constant growth of cities on the urban. Finally, this thesis will study the uses of quantified-self devices and how they helping people to get more healthy and productive every day. The conclusion is that we have to think the urban spaces in a long lasting relation with their users, by linking them in the conception of those by a productive dialogue.
