This was a revamp of the Saudi Arabian National Center for Palms & Dates logo, previously known as NCPD. NAKHL means "palm tree" in Arabic and the idea was to make the logo as recognizable as possible for Arabs. This is not really for Western usage so I had to go through a lot of iterations with the client until we arrived at something that was neutral and easy to recognize for the local people.
The graphic element was obtained by duplicating the word and combining it in a way that permitted usage as a pattern. This pattern is present both on the business card and on the letterhead.
