Below, I explain my brand called CJC Design that started in high school, continued through college and till this day.
Part of my first project for my capstone included alternative logos and designs for my brand, along with mockups.
Here, we have the second part of my first capstone project, where I discuss the inspiration behind it. Part of the project is about making designs and producing mockups for the merchandise design aspect of CJC Design. The Weeknd and his album "After Hours", were the inspirations for this project and are one of my favorite artists and albums. The album covers heavily influenced my version of the album, as you will soon see.
The following three photos show the evolution of the final two photos I chose for the potential album cover "Dark Hours". Dark Hours is my version of the album After Hours by The Weeknd. The model in the photos, Gigi Caballero, is supposed to reference The Weeknd and her name is The Weekend. I decided to go with the second photo because it complements the After hours album cover. Once I locked down the album cover, I wanted to recreate the bloody face The Weeknd had on his cover. I took this photo in photoshop and played around with color, the lasso tool, and the blending modes.
The following are hoodie and shirts mockups of the Dark Hours merchandise. I changed the colors, textures and added filters to these covers.
These are real clothing that I own and modeled in, which I then edited the Dark Hours album covers on them in photoshop.
Dark Hours poster designs inspired by the After Hours color scheme and lights displayed at venues and clubs in Los Angles and Las Vegas.
Dark Hours stickers that each have a unique design and song track title inspired by the After Hours songs. For example, one of The Weeknd's most famous song "Blinding Lights", is called Bright Lights instead and has sparkling light icons around the word.
For the last project, I focused on creating vinyl and cd designs for my album. I made sure to focus on the nighttime and scary vibes with branches surrounding our model.
