Sport is an important source of power. A regular work out makes you healthier, more social, happier and it energizes you. “Escola de Esportes” is a municipal program developed by the Department of Sports and Recreation of Guararema, a small city in Brazil, that offers financial and educational support for the athletes of the city's many amateur and professional sports teams, from athletics to martial arts.

The sports teams of the city of Guararema have a history of victory in state and federal championships. However, they have no sponsorship or other financial incentive other than the city's own, quite limited. This hardcover booklet, containing information, charts and data from the teams, was commissioned by the Prefecture of Guararema in order to raise funds through sponsorship of private companies.

Although this is an institutional booklet, the client agreed on using a dark color palette, featuring black and blue with the intention of conveying the intensity of sports as well as strength and focus, qualities of champions. The undersaturated photos were taken by Vitor Dechem, and are of the athletes of Guararema themselves. The photos are very expressive, have texture and convey emotion, and seem to freeze time, contributing to the layout of the booklet and the arguments necessary to convince potential sponsors to participate in the program.

With this campaign, the Department of Sports and Recreation have obtained hundreds of thousands of Reais in sponsorship for all its eighteen teams.
